Feeding guide
Given the many variables affecting the energy requirements of an individual dog, no single formula will allow us to calculate the energy requirements for all dogs. Variables such as age, neutered/intact status and metabolism mean this guide can only be approximate. Adjust feeding amounts if necessary to maintain your dog's ideal weight and condition.
Please keep in mind...
All dogs are different, which means no single formula will allow us to calculate the energy requirements for all dogs.
Variables such as age, neutered/intact status and metabolism mean this guide is only an approximate. You can adjust feeding amounts if necessary to maintain your dog's ideal weight and condition.
It's common to overestimate our dog's exercise levels and this can lead to overfeeding. So, it's important to note the following for daily exercise:
LOW — dogs walked on a lead only or less than 1 hour off-lead exercise
MODERATE — 1-3 hours low/moderate impact exercise
HIGH — 3-6 hours exercise (working dog/sheep dog etc.)
Feed lactating females upto twice adult amount.
Feed pregnant females up to 1.5 times adult amount.
